Samsung has introduced, at CES 201, a new hybrid mobile chipset, Exynos 5 Octa, with 8 cores.
   Similar with the 4-PLUS-1 architecture used by NVIDIA Tegra 3,  Exynos 5 Octa has four Cortex A15 cores  clocked at a maximum frequency of 1.8 or 2 GHz and four Cortex-A7 cores, clocked at a frequency maximum of 1.2 GHz. Data processing work will be divided between the different strength core, low or medium tasks will be executed on Cortex-A7 cores, once the necessary computing power will exceed their limits,  the big.LITTLE architecture will allow execution switching on the more powerful Cortex-A15 cores in about 20 microseconds.
   According to Samsung, the new Exynos 5 Octa mobile processor , which also marks the transition from a 32nm manufacturing process to a 28 nm procces will have a 70% higher energy efficiency than Exynos 5 Dual.
   Samsung hasn't confirmed the type of the GPU, but they said that the new processor will provide a computing power twice higher than that of any rival product currently available on the market. It might be accompanied by ARM's Mali-T658 GPU.

   Samsung has unveiled today a new smartphone that looks like Samsung Galaxy S III, Galaxy Grand is a smartphone with a 5-inch screen, an 1.2 GHz dual core processor and 8 MP camera.

   Samsung has unveiled a new smartphone with Android, that has a flip form and two 3.7" Super AMOLED screens, both displays have a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels.

   The newest analysis of  the smartphones market, conducted by Strategy Analytics, shows that Samsung Galaxy S III is, at this moment, the most popular terminal. It has gained a market share of 10.7%, compared to 9.7% of the iPhone 4S. iPhone 5 ,Apple's latest smartphone was released  very little time ago and failed to reach the top of the stack. Even so, it has a serious rate of 3.6%.
   Samsung Galaxy S III has very good sales in the recent quarters. It took advantage of the fact that the iPhone 4S has been sold very poorly before the launch of iPhone 5. But analysts say that the Galaxy S III will soon be overthrown. Sales of iPhone 5 will explode during the holiday season.    Samsung Galaxy Note 2 gets a firmware update from Samsung, which has already been launched for phone's buyers from the UK and France.
   The new firmware update brings on the smartphone new features like AirView, Smart Rotation, Multi-View and Multi-Window.
   Using the Multi-View users can run two applications simultaneously on the screen, but the compatibility does not target all Android applications.
   The Multi-Window function provided on the Galaxy Note 10.1 can use in tandem only Samsung's applications , but on the Galaxy Note 2 the functionality has been extended to include some applications from Google : Gmail, Chrome, YouTube and Google Talk.

   The price of the tablet is close to that of an iPad with retina display, 550 pounds, but it is expected to drop after after its release.

   A  prototype with 3GB of RAM has appeared in a picture on internet, without any details about smartphone's specifications.

   Verizon already promised “multiple” Windows Phone 8 devices for this year, but no one actually expected it to add to its offering all of the already unveiled high-end smartphones running under this platform.
   However, it appears that the carrier will indeed make such a move, and that we'll soon see Nokia's Lumia 920, HTC's Windows Phone 8X and Samsung's ATIV S available on Verizon's network.
   All three smartphones are expected to hit shelves at Big Red sometime in November, but specific launch dates are not available as of now.
   Other carriers in the United States are also expected to pick these smartphones up, which suggests that Windows Phone 8 might benefit from a great start in the country.

   Neither side in a bitter patent battle is satisfied with Apple Inc.'s $1 billion jury verdict over Samsung Electronics after a three-week trial this summer.
   Samsung wants a new trial. Apple is seeking an additional $707 million in damages and interest.
   The two companies filed a blizzard of legal papers late Friday and early Saturday with their demands that a federal judge in San Jose significantly amend — or toss out altogether — the jury's Aug. 24 verdict.
   The jury found that 26 Samsung products ripped off Apple's technology at the heart of its iPhones and iPads.
U.S. District Judge Lucy Koh has scheduled a Dec. 6 hearing to discuss the myriad issues raised by both companies. Samsung says it will appeal if Koh turns down its demands.

   After a year since the launch of the legendary terminal, Galaxy S, Samsung has released an updated version called S Plus.The manufacturer is currently preparing a Plus version for Galaxy S II, it will be, as in the first case,  a slightly improved version of the first S II.
   The next version of the famous Galaxy S II GT-I9105 will offer a screen with a higher resolution that jumping from the 480 x 800 pixels of the original at 540 x 960 pixels. But more interesting is the hardware platform, GL Benchmark data indicates a processor clocked at 1.4 GHz and a PowerVR SGX544 MP graphics processor .
   The only  solution currently available that uses this graphics core is the Texas Instruments OMAP 4470, the solution adopted by Amazon Kindle Fire HD 8.9 ", which includes a dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 core, a powerful PowerVR graphics core from and a Vivante 2D accelerator.
   The remaining specifications also include a Super AMOLED screen panel with a diagonal of 4.65 " , 1GB RAM, 16GB of internal storage supplemented by a MicroSD slot and an 8MP camera sensor.

   Last week, South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung unveiled to the world its first handset powered by Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8 platform, the Samsung ATIV S.
   Packing the latest technology inside, the new smartphone is expected to provide users with all they want from a handset, both software and hardware-wise.
   Samsung ATIV S was designed with a thin 8.7mm brushed aluminum body and with an impressive 4.8” HD Super AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 2 coating.
   The phone’s internals were meant to impress as well, starting with the 1.5 GHz dual-core application processor that is complemented by 1GB of RAM.
   The new mobile phone will be released in two capacities, namely 16GB and 32GB, and will also enable users to add more storage via a microSD memory card slot.
   The new Windows Phone 8 smartphone includes an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, most probably with support for full HD video recording, and a 1.9MP camera on the front for making video calls.
   Despite its large touchscreen, the phone feels light and easy to use, courtesy both of its thinness and of its bezel, designed as an oblong hemisphere.
   Microsoft’s Ben Rudolph explains that the bezel “bulges out slightly, then tapers more acutely to the back. This makes the ATIV extremely comfortable to hold and keeps your fingers off the screen when it’s in your hand.”
   The handset comes with some other small features aimed at impressing, such as a raised physical Windows button and aluminum speaker bar and buttons.
Samsung ATIV S is powered by a 2300mAh battery, expected to provide users with increased usage times. Running under Microsoft’s new mobile operating system, the ATIV S should be able to provide users with a great experience.
  No specific info on when the new mobile phone should arrive on shelves has been provided for the time being, or on its pricing. However, we should expect for all of these details to be announced in the coming weeks, so stay tuned.
