HTC has launched today the new flagship of the company, HTC One, the smartphone formerly known as HTC M7.

   NEC, a manufacturer that activates on Japanese mobile phone market seems to have found the ideal way to combine the portability of a smartphone with the freedom offered by a large tablet.
   Medias W N05E is a folding phone with two screens, each with a diagonal of 4.3 inches and a 560x960 pixels resolution. Attached to the back of the phone using a hinge mechanism, the second screen can be opened and brought to the same level as the front display.
   This way the Android interface is extended to cover the whole working area and supports touch controls on any of the screens. Of course, black strips which remains between the screens makes impractical the viewing of the photos and videos, but for working with text documents, web pages, files collections or contacts browsing the advantages are obvious.

   NVIDIA is one of the producers who didn't wait for the tomorrow official opening of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2013. The most interesting announcement made is the new Tegra 4, which promises a number of major improvements brought to the current generation omnipresent on the Android tablets.
   The rumors about the new chipset have been confirmed.  Tegra 4 has 4+1 Cortex A15 cores, the  auxiliary core has the power consumption and the performance significantly reduced.
Manufactured in a Low Power High-k Metal Gate process on 28-nanometer Tegra 4 will provide cores with frequencies that can go up to 1.9 GHz, the cores are accompanied by a dual channel DDR 3 memory controller. Thanks to these improvements, Tegra 4 will provide 2.6 more raw power than the previous generation.
   The graphics processor GeForce ULP has no less than 72 cores, according to NVIDIA, the new graphics processor offers 6 times more power than that provided by Tegra 3.
   NVIDIA has focused on image processing, with a range of functions grouped under the Computational Photography Architecture  offering better capture speeds or HDR processing with simultaneous capture of two images.
   On the list of facilities offered we have USB 3.0 connectivity, HDMI interface with support for 4K resolution screens, H.264 HP and VP8 video acceleration, up to 1440p resolution.

   Samsung has unveiled today a new smartphone that looks like Samsung Galaxy S III, Galaxy Grand is a smartphone with a 5-inch screen, an 1.2 GHz dual core processor and 8 MP camera.
   Even if the screen of Galaxy Grand is bigger than the screen of Galaxy SIII, the new terminal has a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels.

   Sharp Aquos Phone SH930W, the smartphone that offers a fabulous screen with the IGZO technology has been launched in Russia.
   Indium gallium zinc oxide (IGZO) is a semiconductor composite which allows the replacement of the common used silicon substrate with a material with 40 times more conductivity, resulting a higher pixel density and an improved response times.
   The price of the new terminal screen with a FullHD (1080p) 5 inches is about 540 euros, but it seems reasonable if we consider the other device's hardware features.
   Sharp Aquos  Phone SH930W has a Qualcomm 8260 chipset,  including two Krait cores at 1.5GHz, an Adreno 225 GPU and 2GB RAM. The smartphone offers a 32GB internal storage memory, an 8MP main camera, a 2 MP front camera, a 2100 mAh battery and runs Android 4.1, Jelly Bean.

   Facebook app for Android devices has been updated to the 2.0 version, winning a significant performance increase.
   Available from yesterday through Google Play store, the Facebook 2.0 is a major revision to the famous social network dedicated client.
   Largely rewritten using the native code of the Google Android platform, the new Facebook 2.0 starts significantly faster and promises to double the performance in terms of speed, the displaying of the information from the Timeline and the images uploading.
   Among other things, the upgrade allows us to quickly move from one picture to another, without moving the focus off the main feed of informations.
   The Facebook 2.0 application compatible with Android smartphones and tablets, is available for free download on Google Play store.

   To mark the 25th anniversary from the first title of the famous game series Final Fantasy, Square Enix has announced that it will launch in a few days a rebuilt version of the fourth title from the legendary series on the iOS platform.
   Launched in the summer of 1991 on the Super Nintendo console, Final Fantasy IV has kept the roleplay character of the three previous titles, but introduced a soue updates, such as the gameabandoning in turns during battles and characters the introducing of fixed classes for the abandoning.
   The game was later modified to run on other platforms, but the first fully restored version was released in 2006 on the Nintendo DS. Based on 3D graphics and the changed scenario of the latest version , Square Enix has made a version for iPhones, iPad and iPod Touch, which will arrive in App Store on December 20th.
   A less good news is that, like the other iOS games from Square Enix, it will have a high price: $15.99.
Square Enix has announced that it is working on a version for Android, which is expected to arrive in Google Play Store somewhere in the first quarter of next year.

   Archos has launched GamePad, a 7-inch screen tablet with a portable gaming console design. It incorporates two analog joysticks, a D-pad and 8 buttons, simplifying the lives of those lucky enough to appreciate the titles that support the redefining of the keys.

   Toshiba will launch tomorrow a new Android tablet, Toshiba Excite 10 SE. The tablet has a big advantage, it will hit the market at a price of $350.
   Toshiba Excite 10 SE has a 10-inch Autobrite HD screen with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, a quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 CPU, a storage space of 16GB, a  microSD card slot, a 3 megapixel rear-facing camera with auto-focus,  0.4 inches thickness and runs Android 4.1, Jelly Bean.

   Nine out of ten smartphones sold in China are running Google's operating system, Android, according to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China.
   According to the same source the number of subscriptions in China has reached nearly 1.1 billion.
   In Q3 of 2012, 90%  smartphones  sold in China were with Android, according to research firm Analysys International. Apple has, at the same time, the share of sales of 4.2%, while Symbian has 2.4%.
   The main reason why Android has registered such a growth is the very aggressive pricing policy. The average price for an Android device was $223, very little compared with $726, the average price of the  iOS devices.

   Angry Birds Seasons for Android has received an update, that adds gradually, one per day, until the first day of Christmas, 25 new winter levels with a new ice element.
   Only users with an internet connection enabled, will gain access to each daily level.
   The game can be downloaded from the Google Play Store and works on every device with Android 2.2 or above.

    Winulator project aims the creation of an emulator application that lets you run games developed for Windows in x86 on any ARM device. The developer has already managed to port a x86 DirectX 7 game on Android.
   Basically, the game developers don't agree any application that allows porting the game on a platform other than that for which it was originally written.
   The first game successfully tested in Winulator is Caesar III, released in 1999. The game code has undergone
through a conversion to run on ARM devices, but for full functionality is required an adaptation of the controls for a touch screen.
   If it doesn't have the agreement of the game developers, the application could have a very short life in Google Play or App Store.

   Sony Xperia V is expected to arrive in stores since early December. According to representatives of Sony Russia, the new Xperia V terminal will be sold at a price of approximately 622 euros.
   Sony will start shipping  Xperia V with Android Jelly Bean starting form January, until then Xperia V will run Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich.
   Sony Xperia V is has a 4.3-inch HD display, a durable case which resist at scratches, water and dust, a dual-core CPU  clocked at 1.5 GHz, Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8960 chipset, 1 GB RAM, 8 GB internal storage and microSD slot.
   Xperia V offers LTE and NFC connectivity, front VGA camera and a camera of 13 MP for photos, equipped with LED flash and capable of shooting at 1080p resolution.

   Google changes the display mode for the comments left on applications from the Play Store , eliminating the ability to leave anonymous posts.
   Now, all users, who wish to leave comments or share opinions about applications listed in the Play Store, will have to login first with the Google+ user profile.
   Once completed this step, all comments will be associated  to the actual name of the user with access to user 's Google+ profile .
   The change is part of the initiatives taken by Google to integrate Google+ social network with many services of the company.
   In this case the measure has also some benefits, such as more credibility for comments and reviews of the applications listed in the Play Store.

   The successor of LG Optimus G might have a very strong hardware based on next series of chipsets, MSM8974 chipset, from Qualcomm.
   LG Optimus G2 might have a 1080p screen, a quad-core Krait at 2.0 or even at 2.5 GHz, a  Adreno 320 GPU, at least 2 GB RAM and will run  Android 5.0, Key Lime Pie.
   Qualcomm MSM8974 chipset will only be available in the second quarter of 2013, so is likely that LG Optimus G2  to be launched in the third quarter of next year.

   Samsung has unveiled a new smartphone with Android, that has a flip form and two 3.7" Super AMOLED screens, both displays have a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels.

   Asus's 7 inch tablet under the famous brand Google Nexus is bringing record profits for the  producing company and has a substantial contribution in the promotion of Android.
   If all goes according to plans, by the end of this year will be delivered over 5 million copies of Nexus 7. The achievement is more impressive since we are talking about a tablet launched in July, that has an average of 1 million copies sold every month.
   According to information provided by Asus, Nexus 7 counted, only in the period of October, nearly 1 million copies shipped, a trend that will be preserved during the month of November and is supported by the approaches of the Christmas shopping season.

   HTC has launched, in Japan, J Butterly, that had impressed with the size of the screen,  5", but especially with its resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The rest of the hardware platform is equally impressive, it includes a quad-core processor, Qualcomm APQ8064, clocked at 1.5 GHz and a memory capacity of 2GB RAM.
  This version recently arrived in the United States as DROID DNA, exclusively at Verizon.
According to some rumors, the terminal will arrive on other markets important, such as Europe, under the Deluxe name.

  Toshiba Europe has announced a new model of tablet, AT300SE.
  Toshiba AT300SE has a NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor, a 10.1-inch multitouch screen that offers a generous viewing angle, a thickness of 10.5 mm, a weight of 625 grams, an autonomy of up to 10 hours and will run Android 4.1, Jelly Bean.
  The new tablet will be soon available in Europe.

   Nokia has confirmed that the company's maps service, now called HERE, will be available on the devices with iOS and Android, not only on Windows Phone.
   Nokia's new navigation platform will also have a web version which will run on Mozilla's Firefox OS.
   Meanwhile, Nokia has announced the availability of the SDK for developers who want to get involved in the HERE project for Android .
   Nokia HERE, known until now as the Nokia Maps uses cloud technology to enable better 3D rendering navigation.
   The platform will also operate in offline mode.
